Description and General Overview:
Saint Frances of Rome and Our Lady of Charity parishes seek a Director of Music. This will be a practicing Catholic, deeply respectful of Catholic ritual and sensitive to cultural diversity. He or she will enjoy working with children and volunteers. These are urban parishes, both with schools, under one administration.

The organs are a Rodgers electronic, 2 manual, full pedal and an Allen electronic 27-stop, 2 manual, full pedal.
Pianos are a Hamilton upright and a Yamaha baby grand
Salary: $36,000 base: actual commensurate with experience.
Resources: Currently using Breaking Bread, Celebremos/Let us Celebrate, Flor y Canto
Exempt status, Full Benefits eligibility, Five days per week

Registered families: 1200 (SFR), 800 (OLC)
Yearly Weddings: 10, 5
Quinceaños: 15, 10
Funerals: 25, 35

Requirements:
• Knowledge and love for music suitable for Catholic liturgy, including chant.
• Demonstrable versatility in playing organ and piano, and singing
• Comfortable working with pastoral team, in an environment that respects difference in culture, age and language. Knowledge of Spanish a big plus

Duties:
• Plan and provide music for Eucharist, one on Saturday evening and one on Sunday morning. Train and schedule cantors or choirs for same.
• Teach singing in parish schools; train student choirs for Sunday Mass
• Help prepare children in religious education for liturgical celebrations, provide music for same
• Provide music for Eucharist with school children once a week at each parish.
• Build repertoire and encourage congregational singing
• Serve as consultant, including scheduling, for five volunteer Spanish-language choirs.
• Coordinate and/or direct music for feast days, including occasional bilingual liturgies
• Work collaboratively with Pastor, and parish staff.
• Provide music for weddings, funerals, quinceaños
