Six years ago, I was a choir director at a typical parish, struggling to find hymns that would match with the OCP guide to liturgy. I thought that there must be a better way to do this. Then I managed to hear about a Gregorian Chant workshop being held at a parish in Auburn Alabama (of all places). Scott Turkington directed the workshop, and Arlene and Jeffrey organized it. It was a life-changing experience. I remembered this recently because I came across this video Jeffrey recorded.
I wasn't there. But it wasn't long after then that I happened to came across their "idiot's guide to square notes" and "garage schola" articles… and like you, my life hasn't been the same since! Prayers of thanksgiving, indeed.
