I know this recording is pitchy in places, but considering the Sopranos consist of 5th-8th grade boys and girls, some high schoolers and college young women, the altos of mostly older women, the Tenors and Basses from ages 14 to 85, for a total of 55-60 singers, I'd say it's pretty good. Oh, and the parish in question has 350 families, really 225 active ones. Sacred Music can happen anywhere!
Speaking of 'Out of the 'Depths' - is anyone playing (if you are playing the organ at all during Lent) Langlais' very profound piece that bears the title 'De Profundis'? It is based on the choral, 'Aus tiefer not, schrei ich zu dir' and is in Langlais' set of Neuf Pieces.
