The Cathedral of St. John Berchmans in Shreveport, Louisiana, seeks a full-time assistant director of music who will serve as a section leader in the cathedral choir and direct the choir as needed, direct the women’s schola, teach music theory and assist in directing the treble choir (boys and girls), and perform other musical and administrative duties. The ideal candidate will be a practicing Catholic with extensive knowledge of traditional liturgical music and performance practice, and will have excellent sight reading abilities and experience working with volunteer singers of all ages.
