Does anyone here have any experience or more in-depth knowledge of the RSCM Voice for Life curriculum? How usable is it for a Catholic youth choir? Does it require a full school music curriculum, or can it be suitable for weekly rehearsals? How effective is it, especially considering the cost?
I know next to nothing about it; I'd just like to get some personal opinions out there. Thanks!
I have used it for some years, albeit with modifications for RC usage. Three things to know:
1)Using it requires a good bit of organization if you follow it with the awarding of ribbons, etc. 2)You need to develop some aspects within a RC context. 3) I have always included a solfege component that develops ear training and reading.
That being said, it can work well. Better than a lot of things out there.
