A Blessed Christmas to all! Besides the information here http://musicasacra.com/forum/comments.php?DiscussionID=2549&page=1#Item_8, is there any present collection of the Offertory verses in English, for weekdays and other Feasts/memorials etc.? The advice in the previous post says basically to use the 1961 Graduale Romanum, get the Scripture verse and look up the text in a Bible. Is there an easier way to get these verses? It would be so great to chant them at our daily Masses. May God reward you for your input and any ideas.
The Simple English Propers has some offertory verses for weekdays (implicitly); throughout Ordinary Time the Introit, Offertory, and Communion carry over from the previous Sunday (unless there is a solemnity or feast, or some other rubric in the Graduale Romanum that trumps it).
Dear Aristotle,
Thank you for that suggestion. That is wonderful.
Would the offertory verses from the 1961 Graduale be the right texts for the proper of the saints and commons etc. (or at least the best available option)?
