Music in Bulletins-Cleveland Area
  • Hopefully a few of you from the Cleveland area can help me. I'm trying to make a list of different parishes who put their music in their Bulletin and post their Bulletin online. For this discussion, musical philosophy doesn't matter. I like to compare what different parishes are doing. Plus I like to use these to determine where I might be interested in attending mass when I decide to try something new. Here's what I have right now:

    Mary, Queen of Peace- Cleveland
    St. Charles Borromeo- Parma
    St. Christopher- Rocky River

    Any more?

I can give you St. Albert in North Royalton, or St. Adalbert in Berea; just not their bulletins.
  • The Cathedral does.

This really shouldn't be unusual. If you're going to preach FCAP, make it possible. I hate going into a strange parish and finding that I don't know the jingle to which they sing the Ordinary there.

Although they don't anymore; but if you go back to earlier in the year, around Easter, you can find some that still have the music printed in it.
  • Jeffrey, I overlooked the Cathedral... knew about that one but forgot to include it.

Mara, if you don't mind that would be nice. Are you from the area?

David, is that the one in Solon?

The hymntune propers (see the introit at the above links).
  • I think one of the reasons could be that the DoM at this parish is a contributor to this website ;)

To clarify, only the Advent IV Introit has the hymntune introit style proposed by Kathy, but the Advent II Introit is by Richard Rice.
  • MQoP: on the cutting edge.

It seems odd that the order of worship isn't the first thing you see when you open the bulletin. Isn't the liturgy more important than the details about the pot luck supper?

  • Here's a routine reminder: Be discriminating but don't nitpick.
  • It's just how it worked out. Originally the order of worship was on a flap that was the first thing you saw ... then the flap got eliminated and a page added ... it just happened.

The important thing is that people can find it easily, which they can.
  • At St. Joseph in Strongsville we've just begun to include an entire page in the bulletin for the Order of Worship. It is not online though
