    Is there a way to automatically find GLYPHS like fi ?

    When I convert to ASCII, I lose all accents and dipthongs.

    Deus, tu convérsus vivificábis nos, et plebs tua lætábitur in te: osténde nobis, Dómine,
    misericórdiam tuam, et salutáre tuum da nobis.

    Do you have the option of converting to Unicode? Then you could search-and-replace the ligatures with separate characters.

    I expect so; it can support Unicode character sets.
