Alfred Desenclos (7 February 1912 – 31 March 1971), French composer.

Sacred works (all published by Editions Durand):

Messe de requiem

Nos autem (SSATBB a cappella)

Salve Regina (SATB chorus)

Additions:
Apparently he also composed a Pater Noster and one or two O salutaris settings.

His Requiem, composed in 1963 and published in 1967 by Durand was apparently plagiarized, note-for-note, by a composer (Tristan Foison) living in Atlanta and given an "American premiere" in 1999 by the Capital Hill Chorale. The fakery was discovered by someone at that concert who had sung the same piece a year earlier with the Fairfax Choral Society in Vienna, Virginia.

Lovely! You know, if I would have listened to it blindfolded, I would have said it was a Kevin Allen piece. Quite stunning.

I read some of Desenclos' pieces (the Salve Regina and maybe one of the O salutaris settings, I think) when I was researching my dissertation, and thought it beautiful music, but sort of stuck it away and forgot about him because he hadn't written anything for women's choirs (the eventual subject of my dissertation, long story). His pieces ought to be brought out of oblivion, like so much other wonderful sacred music.
