How did missal chants get to be "featured"

    I am trying to discover how exactly it came to be that the new missal chants have been given first place in the "order of Mass" sections of all (to my knowledge) new materials by the publishing companies. Am I wrong about this? Did the USCCB mandate inclusion of the Missal chants in the order of Mass?

    Of course, I understand that they are THE Mass setting included in the New Missal, but I expected the publishing companies to replace them with their own setting in the order of Mass
