Can anyone recommend a church in the Raleigh-Durham area that offers a "good" Sunday mass, EF or OF?

It's quite a drive, but Sacred Heart in Dunn, NC has EF daily masses and EF on Sundays at noon. The Cathedral in Raleigh does EF on 1st Sundays at 4:30. OF masses at the Cathedral can be hit or miss. The Triangle, generally speaking, grew its Catholic population well after VII so the vast majority of parishes in the area are of the "vibrant" mindset and worship in dreadful buildings. There are some isolated efforts to bring authentic sacred music to the region.

If this interests you, there is a Byzantine Catholic church in Cary, NC: Sts. Cyril and Methodius.

Many thanks for the information, Doug. We shall see....
  • From a friend in Raleigh Durham:
The best two places are Sacred Heart in Dunn and Our Lady of Perpetual Help in Rocky Mount.
If someone wants to give the Franciscans a go, s/he could go to the 7:45 am Mass at Immaculate Conception in Durham. It's the only one where you don't hear happy clappy and the only Mass where you hear the organ.

Ditto OLPH in Rocky Mount. RM and Dunn are roughly equidistant from the Triangle, depending on where you start of course.
