For those interested in comparing the semiological approach to chant to the old Solesmes style, here is a recording of my choir rehearsing the introit Spiritus Domini from the Graduale Novum.

In a few cases you will notice that we have followed the melodic indications of the paleography from St. Gall, where the square notes reflect a later practice (e.g. an ornamental pes in place of a virga or tractulus). And in fairness to the cantor of the verse, I should mention that she was reading it at sight!
