St. Mary Star of the Sea Catholic Church in Beverly, MA is now accepting applications for a Director of Music / Organist. Responsibilities include (but are not limited to):

Serving as service organist for 4 weekend Masses (Saturday Vigil and 3 Sunday Masses)
Rehearsing and conducting one Sunday morning Choir Mass with a well-established and capable adult volunteer choir of approximately 25 voices
Other extra services for special Masses typical of the Catholic church year
Perform weddings and funerals
Assistance with introducing the new missal translations from Advent 2011

Excellence as both a performance organist and in choral conducting are prerequisites, as is proficiency in the Roman Catholic liturgy. Bachelor’s or higher degree desirable (organ performance, choral conducting, church/sacred music) or extensive experience in lieu.
