Cassock and Surplice... where to buy?

I suddenly have a need for a Anglican-choir Cassock and Surplice for myself.

I've been looking online, but the problem with that is:
-Dealers of liturgical vestments have really bad websites
-All pictures of cassocks look essentially the same

I'm tallish and pudgy, too- so those one-size-fits-all cheapies are almost certainly not going to work.

Does anyone have recommendations for where to buy decent C&S from online or catalog?
Anyone know of a brick-and-mortar vestments place in the Dallas-Fort-Worth area?
  • The C.M. Almy Company may still offer their custom 'year rounder', a really fine, half-lined cassock with pockets, cuffs, and a dust fringe around the skirt.
I suggest that you get in touch with them about their multiple cassocks and choirmaster-organists' surplices in multiple price ranges.

Another very good (perhaps preferable) firm is J. Wilpple & Co. Ltd. (Wippell's). They are British with an American location as follows -

Tel.: 1-877-947-7355 - Ask for Mark Hoyer
    Fax: 1-800-525-3749
    1 Mill Street (P.O. Box 468)
    Branchville, New Jersey: 07826

Other good firms are always advertised along-side the articles in The New Liturgical Movement

I second the Almy folks. Good price when I bought mine some years ago ( and when I was thinner).
  • Renzetti's in Philadelphia is great: excellent work and reasonable prices for what you get.

[this is not a paid endorsement LOL]
  • We got ours from Matthew Sheehan. Great service and the best prices.
