Attached are settings of the antiphons and verses of Psalms 141 and 142 for the Vespers for Nascent Life, as requested by our bishop. The antiphons are my own arrangements, and the verses are adapted from the Meinrad tones as sent to us by the Diocese. The verses are designed to be sung SATB, preferably a capella.
Since we won't have choir for this, I will be doing the canticle from Philippians and the Magnificat in solo settings (the latter adapted from Dyson). I'm also planning to use Kathy's hymn in defense of life as the entrance hymn (since we aren't quite up to Propers yet).
The instructions about when to sing the antiphon are for the benefit of my organist, who doesn't have a lot of experience playing the liturgy of the hours. I realize everyone on this forum already knows what to do.
