Help with Finale

    Help! My PC crashed, virus!
    Got it up, but can't do speedy entry (midi and qwerty keyboard method.)
    Midi in/out of keyboard to USB is fine. But when I depress "A" and qwerty 5 in a measure all I get is the quarter rest, not the A quarter note. I know I've fixed this before, but that was a gazillion brain cells ago.

    There's a "use midi keyboard for speedy entry" option that has to be clicked.

    Also check your midi setup in two places- at the PC level (the PC knows your keyboard exists), and also within Finale (select your keyboard as the midi device for input/output)

    Also make sure no CAPS keys nor number keys locked.

    Yeah, Noel, been there, done that with caps.
    Once I get the laptop back on wifi online, I'll just contact the Finale FAQ/helpline.
    I know it's a simple solution, just can't remember it.
