OF Compline • New, improved booklet
  • The Compline booklet with Gregorian chant is one of the most downloaded booklets from my website. Now, there is a much improved edition! Apart from some minor aesthetic changes, all psalms are now pointed to facilitate the singing. Also, two antiphons have been replaced by the actual ones the Ordo Cantus Officii refers to.

Please, take a look: Latin Compline with Gregorian chant
  • Simply gorgeous! What fonts did you use?

    Gratefully,
    Paul
  • (Thanks, Mark) And what chant engraving software was used?
  • The font is indeed Garamond Premier Pro. The chants are set using Gregorio. The pdf files produced by Gregorio are then edited using Adobe Illustrator to make small adjustments of which Gregorio is incapable.

  • Beautiful work, as always, Steven.

Gregorio, in my opinion, is the emerging industry standard for chant engraving. What we need now is a nice GUI. In the mean time Richard Chonak's web interface makes for very efficient use of the software. I use this for all of my chant engraving now, including the Simple Propers project at the Chant Café.
