But there is still time to register: CMAA Fall Practicum: Gregorian Chant at the Houston Cathedral.

This event will run from Thursday afternoon, October 21, through Saturday afternoon, October 23. It will close with a 5:00pm, OF Mass with chanted ordinary and propers. There are tracks for singers and sacred music enthusiasts of all levels of experience: Beginning (yes, this means beginning. No experience with Gregorian chant required!) classes for men and women taught by Scott Turkington and Arlene Oost-Zinner, and an advanced class taught by Dr. William Mahrt of Stanford University. Lectures on sacred music topics will be given by Dr. William Mahrt and Jeffrey Tucker, managing editor of Sacred Music. Priest training in singing the Mass will be offered by Rev. Robert Pasley.

This event is being co-sponsored by Houston's Co-Cathedral of the Sacred Heart and St. Theresa Catholic Church in Sugar Land, Texas.

    I'm going!!

My (Episcopalian) parish is paying my way. (Aren't you jealous?)
I registered yesterday and got one of the (still available) $99/nt rooms.

Do I need to bring my own bowtie?
  • I'm looking on going to the Houston Practicum.
Are the any females interested in sharing a room to cut cost?
I hail from Virginia so the cost of the plane ticket is high.
