St. Bernadette Roman Catholic Church in Scottsdale Arizona has an opening for a Director of Sacred Music. This full-time position is responsible for all parish music programs. Salary is based on education and experience; full benefits are included.

Responsibilities Include: Provides musical accompaniment or choir direction for Parish and School liturgies, Holy Days, Weddings, Funerals and other liturgical celebrations; plans and conducts music rehearsals; responsible for hiring, and supervising all accompanists, directs and trains adult and children choirs.

Requirements Include: Must be an active member and in good standing with the Roman Catholic Church; strong understanding of liturgy; familiar with the Parish Book of Chant, Graduale, and contemporary catholic music; a love and passion for Sacred Music and a willingness to assist others to love Sacred Music; proficiency preferred in piano, keyboard, organ and basic guitar; knowledge of group vocal techniques for adults and children; excellent communication and organizational skills. Masters Degree in Music (or similar degree) or comparable parish experience is strongly desired.
