    Just FYI:

There are two alternatives to singing this long melismatic version of the Psalm HERE.

One time we got yelled at by the priest for singing the entire Tract ---- long story.
  • 41 or 91--- just when one gets 'warmed up' it's over!
  • 91 punctums, I guess you could say.
  • On Sunday, we'll be singing the first of these verses, not the massive melisma on the third. With the organ silent in Lent, we have a little more time for this.

Checking over my notes from Dom Saulnier's class, he defined a "neum" is "the music for one syllable," which I never did understand. When questioned about a really long melisma like this, he maintained that it is a neum, but one intended for a soloist.
