"If we think of the saints, we recognise the variety of their spiritual gifts and their human characters. But the life of each one of them is a hymn to charity, a living canticle to the love of God." Pope Benedict XVI
Maybe Mass properly done helps saints become saints, and we learn true humility of Christ's love by being obedient to the Church even when she gives us freedom to choose the better? I believe that's how the life of saints can become a true hymn to God.
