FAUX BORDON: where is the reciting tone?

    What is the pitch for the reciting tone for the simple psalm tone II that relates to this false bordon by Viadana tone II

    The key signature is in "A flat" ( but I think it should be E flat). and that "D" flat would be an accidental.
    I would instinctively recite on A flat and resolve to an f. E flat being DOH.

    But then the key signature changes after the final bar to B flat;
    Would we then recite on the E flat, the fourth degree of B flat? - and resolve to to "C."



    I don't have these problems with "Gather us in."

    Remember that Viadana set his falsobordone to the tones used in Venice at the time. It won't match exactly the Liber usualis tones. We are using his Tone VIII setting and transposed it down a step, placing the psalm tone in the alto. Works pretty well. Transpose away.
