Psalm pairings for Ash Wednesday antiphons?

    For the Ash Wednesday liturgy, there are three antiphons that may be sung during the imposition of ashes.

    Are there specific psalm verses that accompany these antiphons?

    I'm assuming that three of the seven penitential psalms would be employed…

    I suppose so. The Missale Romanum gives indeed three antiphons (Immutemur habitu and Iuxta vestibulum are in the Graduale Romanum, Dele, Domine is in the Graduale Simplex). It adds: "Quae repeti potest post singulos versus psalmi 50 Miserére mei, Deus." So, after each verse of Psalm 51 (50) the antiphon may be repeated.
