My choir was recently given a very sizable donation, and I've been considering spending it on anthem books. Are there any suggestions as to good anthem books, perhaps with a bit of variety? We already have most of the staples, so the New Oxford Anthem Book would be pretty much redundant. We also have the 1st Wilcox Book of Carols and the Oxford Easy Anthem Book.
The Oxford Tudor Anthem Book? What kind of church music / choir setting do you have Gavin? For example, some of my favorite collections is the Chester Book of Motets.
European Sacred Music (OUP)
Advent for Choirs (OUP)
Ash Wednesday to Easter for Choirs (OUP)
Epiphany to All Saints for Choirs (OUP)
Latin Motets (ed. Colin Mawby) Vols 1 and 2 (Kevin Mayhew)
Or the excellent choral series from Chester:
The English School for 4 Voices
Flemish School for 4 voices
German 4vv
Italian 4vv
Advent and Christmas 6vv
