I believe that bickering is usually the result of comments written on the forum and taken the wrong way. In other words, I feel that it is much easier to offend people on the forum than it is in real life, because of the nature of the thing.
I just wanted to say how grateful I am for this forum. I know I have a lot to learn, and I learn so much from this forum.
Also, if have ever typed anything that others took offense to, I apologize.
I will continue to use this forum as a learning tool. THANKS!
I'm reminded of an evening roundtable seminar in college. Everyone was bickering. At the break I said to the instructor, "Why is everyone so angry tonight?" He said, "I think it's because we're discussing the Medea. We're talking about murder, madness and vengeance. Of course people are on edge."
JeffO, I think the Category for this Discussion should be changed from Gregorian Chant: Graduale Romanum to General Discussion
use this forum as a learning tool
I think we are all doing this, too; including learning how to -- --read a comment and accept it emotion-free unless clearly signaled (#$%^)(!!!!)(:-()(bold)(CAPS) ... --ignore off-topic material rather than respond to it --craft questions that invite long-term useful comments --expect that some forum discussions will take time to evolve and finally get to the meat of the matter
