St. Patrick's Cathedral in downtown Fort Worth, Texas, seeks a full-time Director of Liturgical Music and Organist for 5 weekend Masses, Holy Days, and diocesan events. The successful candidate will direct the existing Adult Choir (30 voices), supervise and train Cantors, select hymns, form new choirs, and find imaginative new ways to broaden the musical efforts of the Cathedral so that it becomes a model of quality Catholic liturgical life. The Rector seeks someone motivated to educate and inspire parishioners, the diocese and downtown residents, fostering encounters with Almighty God through the beauty of sacred music. As a diocesan cathedral, St. Patrick's seeks a musician able to work in a broad range of musical styles from Gregorian chant and polyphony to the best of modern compositions. The successful candidate will also lead the cathedral's effort to replace its electronic organ with a pipe instrument.
