Building upon the success of a ten-year transformation of its schools and parish, Our Lady of Mount Carmel in Boonton, New Jersey (30 miles from NYC) is seeking to expand its musical offerings to hire section leaders of all voice types (SATB) for Sunday Masses (9 AM and 11 AM), as well as for Holy Days, Special Liturgies, and Concerts including Advent Lessons and Carols, Christmas Eve, Midnight Mass, Christmas Day, Holy Week/Triduum [Palm Sunday, Holy Thursday, Easter Vigil, Easter Sunday], Parish Feast of OLMC in July.

Professional Vocalists and College-Aged Choral Scholars will all be considered.

Commitment needed weekly for two Sunday Masses (9 AM and 11 AM), as well as for Christmas Eve/Midnight Mass/Christmas Day and Holy Week/Triduum. Combined pay for both Sunday Masses start at $200. Extra Rehearsals, Christmas and Holy Week remunerate at additional rates. Sacred Music Concerts and Special Liturgies also planned.

Core Repertoire to focus on Gregorian Propers, English Chant, Renaissance Polyphony, and Traditional Hymnody. Ability needed to sing straight tone, with strong skills in reading both modern and chant notation, and to prepare music on your own. Ability to sing in Latin and English. Friendly, positive, collegial, professional, and respectful disposition required, with ability to receive instruction.

Vocalists who can commit to Sundays and Holy Days are also eligible for additional opportunities to cantor Weekend Masses, Weddings, Funerals, Holy Days, Christmas, Triduum. Ranges of these remunerate between $90-$250 per call, based on type of service.
