I'm trying to downsize my collection of things I will never actually need, which includes:
- hymnals from a number of different denominations - single scores of a bunch of choral music (mostly sacred, some secular from my school days) - collections (Easy Anthems, 100 Carols, etc) - chant books in English (American Gradual, English Gradual, American Psalter, etc) - liturgical books, mostly Roman or Anglican (but also, hey why not, Lutheran, Orthodox, Free Masons, Judaism...) - books of Catholic documents (Catechism, V2 collections, etc) - books about liturgy, theology, music, etc.
A lot of it is basically outdated/unusable due to changes in translations, rites, calendars, etc (sad commentary on the 20th century...), but might be of interest for historical or musical reasons.
I've been collecting for years, but I don't actually use most of this stuff and probably wouldn't even if I had a church music job again. I would LOVE to give it away all in one go, if any of you work in religious or music libraries (or know someone who does), or like to keep stuff for yourself (or have the capacity to organize and sell it).
If I don't get any takers, I'll start cataloging and will try to give it away piecemeal.
I would be very interested! I’m building up my library and would be grateful for anything you’re wanting to part with. I can also pay for shipping. My email: andyrgoldstein@gmail.com… located in South Bend IN and serving a lot of parishes with workshops and formational resources.
