Mater Dolorosa Church is seeking a Byzantine Divine Liturgy Choir Director to lead and enrich our parish’s sacred music program. This position is ideal for someone eager to support the spiritual life of our faith community. If you do not have experience in the Byzantine Divine Liturgy Rubrics, we will train you. What we are looking for is someone with experience as a Music Director and skilled in music theory. This is a part-time, non-exempt position.
Key Responsibilities • Lead and direct the parish choir for the Byzantine Divine Liturgy. • Conduct regular choir rehearsals and provide vocal training for choir members. • Recruit, train, and support volunteer singers. • Communicate regularly and collaboratively with the pastor. • Coordinate substitute coverage during vacation or planned absences. • Use email and Microsoft Office for schedules, communication, and music planning. • Hours are: Saturday 10:00a.m.; Sunday 8:00 a.m.; Solemnities – times may vary.
Salary is $60.00 per hour.
