Director of Music and Organist
St. Ignatius of Antioch Parish, in Antioch, California is looking for a Director of Music and Organist for a parish of 1,000 families. The director would play three Eucharistic Liturgies each weekend plus holy days and special seasonal liturgies at Christmas and Lent/Easter. The director would also be responsible for directing the parish choir of 23 volunteer members as well as working with Cantors and directing the Handbell Choir.
The musical resources are a three manual and pedal Rodgers Hybrid of 19 ranks of premium wind blown pipework and 52 digital stops, a Heissler German one manual Choir Pipe organ of 7 ranks, and a Yamaha 7 foot Concert Piano.
The director will be responsible for the production of the weekly worship leaflet, working with office staff, being collaborative, is a member of the Pastoral Staff, and who embraces the reforms of Vatican II, is creative, and has good "people" skills.
The position is part time, 25 hours per week; the Diocesan scale is M-5 ($38- $47/hour). This position includes full benefits, including health, dental/vision and retirement contributions.
