For our Te Deum (6 PM at Assumption, Nashville TN), we are planning:
• O Salutaris, attr. Josquin • Mozart, Ave Verum • Te Deum, solemn tone • Tantum Ergo from @Drake • Divine Praises, Maredsous tone, accompaniment of Saint Cecilia’s Abbey (a favorite here) • Psalm 116, ton royal with alternating fauxbourdon • Hark! the herald angels sing, arr. Willcocks (my pastor is pleased with the results after he asked me to add an English hymn after Vespers, and so why not sing one more carol).
I’m not in charge of anything besides Vespers so I don’t know the New Year’s Day plan itself. But I can say already that we are looking to do some fauxbourdon at least attributed to Victoria and a Magnificat by Lassus (or attributed anyway) for I Vespers of Candlemas on Feb. 1. More to come!
