Saturday Mass of the BVM - 1962 Calendar

    Does anyone know of a quick and easy resource that sets out the specific Saturdays each year when this is permitted according to the 1962 rubrics and calendar?

    Weekends are normally the best time for Latin Mass communities to have Sung Mass.

    A Votive Mass on the BVM on a Saturday is probably more practical in contexts where there are few singers and little rehearsal time on account of the propers being repeated throughout each relevant season.

    Having the specific Saturdays where this is possible set out somewhere would be very handy.

    I'd also add, it would be handy to know what feasts occur on Saturdays every year and do not change. Again, for small communities, this kind of information would be really useful.

    So far, I have: the four Ember Days, the Vigil of Easter, Saturday within the Octave of Easter, the Vigil of Pentecost, Saturday within the Octave of Pentecost.

    After this, I guess the only other possibility would be in some places to have Mass on Friday night, in which case it would be the same exercise all over again just with Fridays.

    This may be the thing you're looking for. Section E notes that Masses for Our Lady's Saturday are 4th class, and proper to every Saturday unless a 1st, 2nd, or 3rd class takes precedence. Keep in mind also that there are four different sets of propers for Our Lady's Saturdays, depending on the liturgical season. They're all beautiful, I've sung them many times (though mostly for some Latin NO First Saturday Masses).
