I was thinking, since St Josaphat laboured for the reunion of the Greek church with Rome, that we might sing something from the Eastern tradition at that Mass. Thoughts/suggestions? Any hymns about St Josaphat? There are always the Office hymn texts we could use, but thought I’d explore the Eastern idea.
Our choir that day will likely only be SAB, but I may be able to rope in a tenor. We will sing all the proper chants as well.
Found what I was looking for, but it's Czech (style), not Ukrainian. I believe this is the one @Hugh was talking about in this ancient conversation, but all his links are long-dead.
Speaking of the Cherubic Hymn, there's the Cherybic Hymn #7 by Dmitri Bortniansky. There are English language versions as well as the Slavonic. I've sung both. I think the English version was arranged by N. Lindsay Norden, but I can't recall who the publisher was.
