St. Paul’s Cathedral, Pittsburgh, is hiring both a director of music and associate director. These two simultaneous openings are for happy reasons: one incumbent is pursuing a vocation, and the other is retiring.
I am not connected with the Cathedral or Archdiocese and can’t answer questions, but speaking just as a tourist, the Cathedral is visually and acoustically stunning, and the 4m Beckerath is a landmark; easily in the top 10 most significant organs in North America (your ranking may vary based on your taste, but historically, it was a sea change and it’s a peerless example of its type).
Both men are fabulous musicians and will be sorely missed. They’re leaving behind a wonderful music program. St. Paul Cathedral has a wonderful, traditional Novus Ordo Mass.
There is an official posting for this job now, so unless there is a reason to keep this item open, I'll close it. It's OK to send me a direct message if you want this reopened.
