Does anyone know who composed the setting of this chorale as can be found at the link above? This recording is from a film, so the way that the vocal parts enter and interact is a bit irregular, but it's a neat setting and I'd like to locate a score if I can. A cursory look around CPDL didn't seem to yield anything which matched.

The chorale "Wer nur den lieben Gott läßt walten" is by Georg Neumark (both tune and text), and it's available at CPDL, also in translation "If thou but suffer God to guide thee" ... and in various arrangements, including by J.S. Bach.

The arrangement is by Tobias Gravenhorst and is from the film Vaya con Dios. For context:

    From Wikipedia:
As the Gloria song at the Jesuits' conventual Sunday Mass, they sing a three-part setting of Georg Neumark's 17th century hymn Wer nur den lieben Gott läßt walten, written for the film by Tobias Gravenhorst, who also plays the organist.
Incidentally, the same chorale is featured in Babette's Feast:

Yes, it's been a welcome earworm in my occasional dreams for nearly 40 years because of that supernal film.

Thank you Patrick! Exactly the info I was looking for. Saw the film in undergrad and that scene has lived in my mind ever since.

I've only seen a few clips from it but think I would enjoy it. I find the construction of a storyline around a fictitious heresy quite clever and amusing, especially when the heresy concerns sacred music!
