The Graduale Simplex (and the feast of the Visitation)

    Hi all,
I am new to using the Graduale Simplex. I plan to use it for a Mass on the 31st of May (the feast of the Visitation), but I notice that there is no proper chants for that particular feast. Does this mean that I use the Common of the Blessed Virgin Mary?

(The Graduale Romanum chants are too difficult for my choir members)

Yes. But much of that Mass is from the common anyway, no?

Well, the Graduale Romanum chooses specific antiphons and not all of them are from the Common.

Yes, you use the Common of the Blessed Virgin Mary from the Graduale simplex.
  • Yes, the chants of the common of Our Lady must be used, but for communion the same text of the Graduale Romanum can be used, the same as for the Mass of the Assumption of Our Lady, Beatam me dicent.
