The "Antiphonale Monasticum" (AM) from 2005 lists the attached Magnificat incipits for all verses and psalm tones.
Is there a similar table for the English Magnificat in the translation used by the Book of Common Prayer (BCP)? The BCP texts are based on the King James translation (KJV) and, as far as I know, the incipits utilized in Evensongs deviate from those of the AM.
The text of the Magnificat (and for that matter, all of the Psalms and canticles derived from holy scripture) contained in the 1549 Book of Common Prayer, and its derivatives, are from the translation of Miles Coverdale, 1535. The Authorized Version did not appear until 1611.
The American 1928 Prayer Book (and its antecedents) have lightly edited the classic texts best known in the English 1662 BCP.
@roborgelmeister It seems that the canticles are missing in this edition. It says "For the solemn modulations of Magnificat and Benedictus vide Canticles, p. 16 and 18", On p. xvi and xviii od this book there are no canticles. Apparently this refers to a different book.
