Mystic Modern: the music of Charles Tournemire
Would anyone be willing to listen to my choir and give me advice?

Someone in my congregation recorded my choir. I need advice to help the group improve.
Is anyone willing to listen to a recording? I would send it to you in an email, if you would PM me your address.
    I would be so grateful.
    Thanks.

Honestly, if you’re willing, just upload the mp3 here and multiple people would help. You could also upload something to YouTube and keep it “unlisted” if share that link here.

Thanks so much to everyone who sent me a message and to the generous ppl above. I think I will have lots of feedback.

Thanks Serviam. I'm way too self conscious to post a recording!

Be advised that cellphone recordings from sitting in the congregation are naturally pretty terrible sounding.

They're also awful from sitting in the loft. Almost there's no way to get a decently reflective recording on a cellphone. Because the microphone and the software are designed to pick up nearby voice, and reduce background noise.

  • True that cell recordings are often not a good representation. Just a thought, if you want to make recording and reviewing a regular part of your program: I've always had good luck with the quality and flexibility (and portability) of the Zoom H-series microphones. They give you a pretty clear idea of your ensemble's sound. Prices are reasonable for the quality you get.
