Selling used Gather Book (Hymnal) 3rd edition
  • Our parish updated what hymnal we are using from the Gather Book 3rd edition to the St. Michael Hymnal and currently have around 200 pew edition (without readings) Gather Book 3rd editions that are still in good condition that we no longer have a use for. We did have a couple prayer stickers pasted in the front cover, but those could easily be covered if desired with another sticker. We would just like the cost of shipping and a few dollars per book - great for someone who uses the Gather Book and wants to boost their number of hymnals without paying the full price for new ones. If you or someone you know are interested, you can contact me at: music@stmbigriver.diolcparish.org

hmmm... i would send them back to the publisher with reasons for the switch.
  • When you find where to send them, please let me know so that I can sneak into my parish in the middle of the night and send all of ours, too.

Congratulations on switching to SMH! It's a terrific hymnal!

I would build a bonfire on the Feast of the Nativity of St. John the Baptist and have it blessed according to the Roman Ritual for the Feast day, and burn them, all while video recording the whole thing. Then I would send it to the publisher with an explanation.

I always wondered why if there was a Gather hymnal, why wasn't there a Scatter hymnal for the end of mass? Like SponsaChristi's suggestion but the darn things probably wouldn't burn.

There is a chapter of NPM in your state, so perhaps contacting them could lead to a parish that uses the Gather.
