Sermone Blando Angelus

Within the last few months I happened upon a YT video by Pannonia featuring Thomas Tallis', "Sermone Blando Angelus". Looking for a chant rendition that he based his music on I can't find the same melody, which I think is a shame since the current one on gregobase is different/repurposed...Perhaps I'm wrong but the simpler melody actually sticks and I can see why other contemporaries of T.T. used it.
Am I missing something on why we no longer use the older plainsong?

The problem you have is the "Sermone Blando Angelus" is part of a longer hymn, so a Cantus Search gives, https://cantusindex.org/id/008271%3A06

So If you search for the full hymn, Aurora lucis rutilat rather than verse 6, you will get this,

You may find what you are looking for somewhere in the 175 manuscripts...

Another place to look would be here, http://www.globalchant.org/text-details.php?text=Aurora-lucis-rutilat-caelum N.B. this database is far from complete...
