ELI5: New CCCB Hymnal

    As I mentioned in a previous post, I've worked in other denominations and am hoping to switch. So please forgive my ignorance. I tried to find the answer online, but I must not have worded things perfectly, since I didn't get a clear answer.

    When does this new hymnal thing come out? I see some articles saying 2024, but we've only got a few months left, so wouldn't they know a more specific day by now? How different will it be and in what ways?

    No date has been given for availability.

    The project was started in 2016. Publication has always been “expected next year”.

    The Conference’s own page describes the project and content at a high level.

    A table of contents was released in 2018 and discussed here on the forum.

    To be brief: it will be all the "contemporary" things that were in CBW3, maybe 30% of the "traditional" bastardized things that were in CBW3, and the rest taken from OCP's contemporary resources in the States. Avoid at all costs.
