Pax! Here's a little Christmas carol (Christmas in October?) using the Infant King text usually associated with the Basque noel. I was originally inspired by the first verse, with its tenderness and sweetness. This never leaves the despite mentions of the Passion (the nails, the piercing). But if you did lose some of the sweetness it comes back at the fourth verse (Dreaming of Easter, gladsome morning)! I hope you find this useful this Christmas season.
Thank you for this. It is perfectly lovely. And as an aside, your choice of string quartet for demo was chef’s kiss perfection, and this is beautiful just even as an instrumental. You might wish to explore that instrumental idiom more; your writing style has a natural penchant for beauty in this form.
