I discovered a wonderful CM tune in Weber's Hymnal of the Hours that I cannot identify. It doesn't appear to be associated with the Latin incipits he cites. I attached it. What is this tune? I would love to use it and want to cite it correctly. It's beautiful

According to the indices, this chant was "Arranged by Columba Kelly, O.S.B. ☺ 2014 Saint Meinrad Archabbey, St. Meinrad, IN 47577-1010. All rights reserved."

I saw that but also noticed other public domain tunes being attributed the same way, so wondered if that referred to the text.

There are separate sections in the indices for source of text and source of chant.

  • You could also just try contacting Father Samuel. He has a contact on His website. He normally is very quick to respond to any questions.

  • I'm not 100% sure but it might a Cistercian melody. It's familiar but I don't remember where from.
