Hello everyone! It was such a joy to meet many of you at the CMAA Colloquium last month. I am hosting the Colorado Sacred Music Conference at St. Mark Catholic Church in Highlands Ranch, CO on August 7-8. The purpose of this conference is to build friendships with other church musicians and to grow in our own formation so that we can faithfully and fruitfully fulfill our roles as church musicians. I am THRILLED to have Kevin Allen as our featured presenter. He will be leading sessions on sacred polyphony and composition. There will also be sessions in rehearsal techniques, vocal pedagogy, and organ technique (led by Patrick Torsell). Dr. Charles Nolen will be leading a special clergy track that will include chanting the Mass dialogues and having real conversations around building a strong music program at a parish.

The hotel block has a great rate and is open until July 19. More information and registration can be found here: https://stmark.regfox.com/2024-colorado-sacred-music-conference

This sounds like a wonderful conference!!
  • We do his pieces (esp. “Quam dilecta” and "Justorum animae" and "Memento verbi") almost every Sunday
  • It was a great conference last year, and I have no doubt it will be even better this year! Hope to see some of you there!
