Chesterton Academy of Annapolis, MD, a classical, Catholic member of the nationwide Chesterton Schools Network (CSN), is seeking a part time high-school Music & Choir teacher for the 2024-2025 school year.
In the CSN 9th-12th grade music and choir curriculum, students are introduced to the sacred and secular musical tradition of Western civilization. Students are taught singing and aural skills, musicology, and music theory.
Choir studies follow a historical timeline: starting with ancient and medieval periods, with a steady progression through Renaissance, Baroque, Classical, Romantic, and contemporary periods. All students take music each year and participate in choir. For students who have particular gifts and interest, an extracurricular chamber choir and chant schola are also available.
Time commitment: 1-2 school days per week, 4-6 hours total. Salary commensurate with experience and qualifications. Please submit a resumé and cover letter to headmaster Thomas Thoits – careers@chestertonannapolis.org – prior to June 1, 2024.
