St. Michael the Archangel Catholic Church in beautiful Cary NC (Diocese of Raleigh) is seeking a Full-Time Associate Director of Music and Liturgy, beginning April 2024. St. Michael's is a large parish with a healthy staff culture, a growing membership with many young families, and great pastoral support for sacred music. A 16-voice polyphony choir and Gregorian Chant program supplement regular adult choirs, children's and K-8 School choirs, 3-octave handbells, and excellent orchestral instrumentalists.
The ideal candidate will be an accomplished organist, accompanist, choral director, and vocalist, adept at joyfully communicating the Church's teachings on sacred music. Should have some experience with volunteer ministry training and scheduling, music notation software (Finale preferred), AV systems, and excellent organizational skills. Spanish language skills are also desirable, though not required.
Thanks, Alex, incidentally, for participating in the on-line panel discussion in February, on the subject of hymnals, worship aids, and pew resources. Video of the session is now available on the member portal at https://connect.churchmusicassociation.org/page/mr (login required).
I'm closing this post to comments as usual. --admin
