Mass EF 10 Feb - Can we celebrate Our Lady of Lourdes? Help 24 hours before ceremony!

    Hi,

    In the ordo... Mass on Saturday is St Scholastica 3rd class
    But Sunday trumps Our Lady of Lourdes.

    My boyfriend and I are getting betrothed on Saturday and LOVE both saints but love the propers for Our Lady of Lourdes.

    Can we do Our Lady of Lourdes on Saturday? If so, Is it then a votive Mass or vigil Mass?

    I believe that you cannot. I think in the EF you can't do a vigil Mass like that. If Our Lady of Lourdes is a special patron (officially, such as if you attend Our Lady of Lourdes parish), then it could be first or second class, otherwise it is just third class like St. Scholastica.

    If I'm wrong, somebody please correct me.

    Thank you, yes, I think you are correct. Oh well, Benedictines are nice. I just really fell in love with the OLoL readings. Haha.
