    Position Title:
    Lecturer (University) - Director of Liturgical Music/Organist (Seminary)

    Job Description:
    The Director of Liturgical Music/Organist is responsible for the liturgical music program. The Director performs such additional duties as the Rector may assign.

    Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
    Teach appropriate sections of the courses in the Liturgical Formation curriculum, in particular topics related to Sacred Music
    Oversee Spanish and Latin scholae.
    Direct the Vespers schola which is also the Sunday Mass schola.
    Serve as primary organist, particularly for Sundays (Mass and Solemn Evening Prayer), feasts, and solemnities.
    Plan music for all seminary liturgies
    Recruit, train, and schedule seminary cantors and organists
    Coordinate the production of worship aids as necessary.
    Oversee Liturgical Music expenses.
    Oversee maintenance of seminary instruments
    Maintain the music library, which includes ordering new music as needed and
    updating the music files.

    Educational and Minimum Requirements:
    A minimum of five years of experience in liturgical music direction and as an organist.
    Preferably at least a Master’s degree in music.

    Must exhibit a love for the priesthood.
    Must exhibit a high degree of integrity, organizational skill, dependability, a strong work ethic and ability to collaborate with others.
    Must have the ability to work independently, perform multi-tasks and demonstrate competence in all areas of responsibility.
    Ability to maintain a high level of confidentiality and professionalism.
    Must be able to work with all members of the seminary community in a professional and charitable manner.
    Must be able to use Windows, Microsoft Word, Microsoft Excel, and learn to use Canvas (the Mount Learning Management System).
    Must be familiar with the relevant liturgical documents.
    Must have competence in organ playing, choir directing, and vocal coaching.
    Must be sensitive to the diversity of the seminary community, not only ethnically but also musically.
