St. Stephen Catholic Church in Bewick, Louisiana is seeking a part-time organist. Candidates should be accomplished keyboardists with the ability to sightread, with preference given to those with experience and/or training in organ performance and accompaniment. The organist will provide accompaniment to two weekend Masses (Saturday 4 pm and Sunday 10 am), as well as Holy Day Masses. Candidates must be knowledgeable of the liturgical and musical tradition of the Roman Catholic Church, including classical hymnody and chant. The organist is not responsible for the planning of liturgical music. Pay is stipends per Mass, with additional stipends for weddings and funerals.
