"O Come, O Come Emmanuel" in multiple languages
  • Grace and peace, everyone. I've been teaching my religious-education class how to sing the first stanza of "Veni, veni Emmanuel" in multiple languages. Last week we had Latin, English, Norwegian, Spanish, and French. The children then asked me for Chinese, Japanese, Turkish, Ukrainian, Italian, and Portuguese. I don't suppose anyone has a source...

Searching for all texts set to VENI EMMANUEL on Hymnary.org brings up quite a few different languages.
  • Thank you!!

I've sung it in Mandarin and Korean, without making a deep impression on my memory however.

  • Wow! I've just started teaching my religion class Veni Veni Emmanuel too, trilingual (English, Spanish, and Latin, because the school is fairly Hispanic). We are too broke to give all the students paper, so I just put it on the big tv/computer (hence why it's landscape).
